Can I use a memory card other than the one provided by Qvia/Lukas?
We highly recommend using a genuine Qvia/Lukas SD cards for compatibility issues. In the worst case scenario, using a different memory card may damage your dash camera.
Do I have to use a Qvia/Lukas SD Card Reader?
No. You can use any SD Card Reader.
Can I use a microSD card adaptor in the SD card slot?
No. Using a microSD card with an adaptor in the SD card slot damages your dash camera. A dash camera inevitably produces a lot of heat, and this heat will melt the adaptor inserted into
your dash camera.
I recently bought a new SD card. Do I need to change settings again?
No. Your customized settings are already saved onto your dash camera. So no extra configuration is need. Simply format your SD card on Qvia/Lukas PC viewer before use.
What are the differences between a UV filter and a CPL filter?
A UV filter protects the lens from UV rays.
A CPL filter eliminates diffuse reflections, thus improving image quality. (The footage may look darker at night or if the windshield is tinted)
Do I have to have a CPL filter on my dash camera?
A CPL filter is good for cutting out back light and diffuse reflections, thus improving image quality during day time. However, it is not recommended during nighttime or if the windshield
is tinted.
How can I format the SD card?
A dash camera's SD card is consumable. However, SD cards can last longer if you format them on a regular basis.
If your dash camera is an LCD model, you can simply format it on the camera. Or, insert the SD card to your PC and format it on Qvia/Lukas Viewer.
