Can I use a memory card other than the one provided by Qvia/Lukas?
We highly recommend using a genuine Qvia/Lukas SD cards for compatibility issues. In the worst case scenario, using a different memory card may damage your dash camera.
Why does my Qvia/Lukas dash camera have two memory card slots?
Files from Always recording and Motion recording will be saved on to the SD card, while event recording files are saved on to the microSD card. This way, you can save more video files and
it's easier to find an event file whenever you need.
What is the Format-Free feature? How often do I have to format my memory cards?
Format-free is a feature that helps users not to format memory cards on a regular basis. This feature will automatically re-record over old footage when your memory cards get filled.
However, since a memory card is a consumable item, it is always better to manually format your memory cards every now and then, so that it can last longer.
Do I have to use a Qvia/Lukas SD Card Reader?
No. You can use any SD Card Reader.
Can I use a microSD card adaptor in the SD card slot?
No. Using a microSD card with an adaptor in the SD card slot damages your dash camera. A dash camera inevitably produces a lot of heat, and this heat will melt the adaptor inserted into
your dash camera.
I recently bought a new SD card. Do I need to change settings again?
No. Your customized settings are already saved onto your dash camera. So no extra configuration is need. Simply format your SD card on Qvia/Lukas PC viewer before use.
Why do I need the GPS option on my dash camera?
With GPS, your dash camera will record extra information such as driving speeds, and location data. And once GPS signals are received, time will automatically be set on your dash camera.
The GPS signal is unstable.
High buildings and poor weather conditions can result in unstable GPS coverage. Also, over-tinting and/or a rain sensor on the windshield can affect GPS reception. If the signal is unstable
even when you are driving, please try changing the installation spot of your dash camera. If the problem persists, please contact your local distributor.
How long does it normally take to receive the GPS signal?
For the first use, it takes about 15-20 minutes, and after that, it normally takes about 3 minutes. Please be noted that there are some areas such as in a tunnel or around tall buildings where
the GPS signal may get lost.
How do I know the GPS reception status?
Please check the bottom part of the video footage.
